Daisy Greenwell

Parent Advocates · Smartphone Free Childhood

Co-founded Smartphone Free Childhood, the UK parent movement that grew to tens of thousands of members in weeks.

Daisy Greenwell co-founded Smartphone Free Childhood in 2024 together with Clare Fernyhough, launching a grassroots campaign urging parents to delay giving children smartphones. The movement grew rapidly, drawing roughly 75,000 parents within its first two months, and has since spread into chapters operating in more than 27 countries. Smartphone Free Childhood organizes parents school-by-school and community-by-community, encouraging collective pledges similar in spirit to other delay-focused campaigns, and has become one of the fastest-growing parent-advocacy networks addressing children's smartphone access. Greenwell's work with Fernyhough helped turn a private parenting worry into an organized public movement.
