Cayce Savage
Whistleblowers & Insiders · Meta
Former Meta VR researcher who joined Jason Sattizahn in testifying that the company shelved child-safety research on its headsets.
Cayce Savage was a researcher on Meta's virtual-reality team before leaving the company and speaking out, together with former colleague Jason Sattizahn, about how Meta handled research into risks facing younger VR users. The pair testified before the Senate in September 2025, at a hearing titled "Hidden Harms," describing internal findings they said the company did not act on or disclose. Their testimony brought the whistleblower pattern seen earlier at Facebook and Instagram — internal research on harm to young users going unacted upon — into virtual reality, a fast-growing and less-scrutinized part of Meta's business.
