Cyberkrank! Wie das digitalisierte Leben unsere Gesundheit ruiniert
"Cyberkrank!" is Spitzer's 2015 follow-up to "Digitale Demenz," broadening his argument from memory and learning to everyday physical and mental health. The book surveys research he cites on internet and smartphone use and associates heavy, habitual use with poorer sleep, eye strain, reduced physical activity, and patterns he characterizes as behaviorally addictive, alongside links to anxiety and low mood. Spitzer frames "digitalized life" — constant connectivity, notifications, and screen-based entertainment — as a public-health concern he argues deserves the same scrutiny historically given to other health risks, rather than being accepted as an unavoidable cost of modern technology. As with his earlier book, independent researchers have publicly challenged some of his causal framing. TechKids Foundation includes the title as a widely discussed German-language statement connecting everyday digital habits to broader health concerns, summarized here in our own words as association rather than proven causation.
