Écrans, un désastre sanitaire : il est encore temps d'agir

Feb 2025 🇫🇷 Gallimard (collection Tracts, n° 65)

A short-format essay in Gallimard's pocket-sized 'Tracts' pamphlet series, written by neurologist Servane Mouton the year after she co-chaired France's national commission on children and screens. In roughly 64 pages, Mouton extends the commission's findings into a wider public argument, walking through sleep disruption, vision problems, and neurodevelopmental concerns she associates with heavy screen exposure, and criticizing what she sees as France's National Education system's uneven, insufficiently cautious approach to classroom screen use — while noting exceptions for students with disabilities. She draws on scientific literature, clinician accounts, and parent testimony gathered through her own practice and commission work. TechKids Foundation cites the book as Mouton's own public-argument extension of her co-chaired government report, not as a peer-reviewed study, and frames its claims throughout as her stated position rather than settled TechKids findings.
